How to install a skill in Claude

A Claude skill is a markdown file of instructions, metrics and output formats that Claude loads when invoked and follows like a playbook. Installing one takes about a minute.

  1. Download the skill's .md file (or the whole pack above and unzip it).
  2. In Claude, open Customize → Skills, click +, and upload the file.
  3. Start a chat and run it from the skills menu, then paste your export or connect your account.

The same files work in Claude Code (drop them in .claude/skills) and pair with the Adside MCP for live account access. New to this? Watch the 13-minute walkthrough, or see how Adside's Shared Brain runs these playbooks for you.

Claude skills questions, answered

A skill is a markdown file with instructions, metrics and output formats that Claude loads when you invoke it. Instead of re-explaining how you want a pacing check or a creative audit done every time, you upload the skill once and Claude follows the playbook. These 19 cover the recurring jobs of running paid ads.

Not all of them. The analysis skills work on anything you paste in: a Meta or Google Ads export, a screenshot, a CSV. The ones that read live accounts (like Daily Brief or What's Running) need a connection such as a Meta MCP server. The 13-minute walkthrough at /blog/watch-claude-skills-marketing shows both setups.

Yes. They're MIT licensed, so you can change the thresholds, rename the output sections, fork the repo, or ship them inside your own product. Each skill marks its configurable blocks so you know what's safe to tune.

Mostly, yes. Each skill is plain markdown instructions, so you can paste one into any capable model as a prompt. The skill-to-skill chaining and the upload-once workflow are Claude features, but the logic itself is portable.
